37. Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman

Actress Elizabeth Banks has been married to Max Handelman for 18 years now. They first met in college in 1992. At the time, Banks was just pursuing a communications degree. After 11 years, they tied the knot in 2003 in a Jewish ceremony. Together, they have two children, sons Magnus and Felix, who were born via surrogacy. The circumstances of their birth caused some backlash. However, Banks said that she had infertility issues that necessitated surrogacy. Despite undergoing some parts of the conversion process, Banks remains non-Jewish while her husband and children are Jewish.

Despite Banks’ high profile, the rest of the family prefers to have a more private life. Handelman and Banks tend to collaborate on a lot of films. Via Brownstone Productions which they co-founded, they have produced several films such as the Pitch Perfect series, Surrogates, and Charlie’s Angels. Within the company, Banks serves as CEO.
