49. Prince Frederik and Mary Donaldson

Prince Frederik and Mary Donaldson receive credit for having a fairytale-like love story. Who would have thought the heir apparent to the Danish throne would fall in love with a commoner? The two met at a pub in Sydney. At the time, Frederik was in Australia for the 2000 Summer Olympics. Mary had no idea that the man in front of her was part of the royal family.

They shook hands, and from here, the rest was history. Their first meeting blossomed into a romance. They endured a long-distance relationship during the first year of their relationship. When Mary moved to Denmark in 2001, they began an instant item. After just two years, their engagement soared through the headlines, followed by a wedding in 2014. The couple is now married for 17 years and blessed with four beautiful kids. Mary has become the Crown Princess of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat, and will automatically become the Queen Consort of Denmark if Frederik gets the throne.
