17.Rami Malek With His Twin Brother Sami
The movie Bohemian Rhapsody was important for two reasons. First, it made people appreciate Freddie Mercury’s legacy in music, and second, it cemented Rami Malek’s reputation as an excellent actor. For portraying the Queen frontman in the film, Rami clinched the Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe and even the British Academy Film Awards. He became the first actor of Egyptian heritage to ever win an Oscars and for that, Time magazine named him among the most influential people in the world in 2019.
Rami has an older twin brother—older by four minutes, that is—named Sami Malek. Both of them were born to immigrant parents. Their father was an insurance broker, while their mother was an accountant. Sami, on the other hand, is a qualified teacher. While they are twins, the two have chosen to live on the opposite side of the fame spectrum, with one living under the spotlight, the other choosing a more low-key life.
